Erlanger Baroness Auxiliary for Adult Volunteers
With the volunteer tradition alive at Erlanger since 1934, the Baroness Auxiliary has contributed time, commitment, and heart that are beyond words and measure. From mending worn linens and donating a station wagon to the hospital in its earliest stages to operating the Gift Shop, purchasing medical equipment, and raising funds to support several healthcare programs, the Auxiliary has been a strong partner to Erlanger Health System for many decades, currently carrying on the tradition with over 200 adult volunteers. Service and Learning College Volunteer Program
In our newly launched Service and Learning College Volunteer Program, college students will be able to get hands-on experience in our real-life classrooms here at Erlanger Hospital. With volunteer opportunities available in both clinical and non-clinical areas, students of all backgrounds and fields of study—from Nursing, Pre-med, and Allied Health to Accounting, Legal Studies, and Business Administration—will gain valuable skills and insights from behind the scenes. If you are currently enrolled in college and would like to participate in this new program, please click here to view jobs and to apply.
VolunTEEN
Every summer at Erlanger, local high school students aged 15 to 18 have the opportunity to serve their community in a safe and educational environment. Both clinical and non-clinical areas are open to the VolunTEENs, giving them a chance to help others, to see what a hospital is all about, and, for some, to confirm their aspirations to pursue a career in medicine. The program currently runs from June through July and is highly competitive. To apply to this program, please click here.
The American Red Cross
Red Cross volunteers are highly visible on the Erlanger Baroness Campus downtown. From assisting patients, families, and guests at the Information Desk to delivering mail and flowers to patient rooms, their dedication to Erlanger is just one component of the Red Cross global mission. Other Ways to Volunteer
We always appreciate your help here at Erlanger Hospital, and to us no contribution is a small contribution! Whether you are a group or an individual, here are some ongoing projects that require only a giving heart:
Create a Miracle Page
Work at our Special Events
Contribute to our Child Life Wish List
For more volunteer opportunities please contact Emilia Jones, Volunteer Coordinator, at 423-778-7892 or emilia.jones@erlanger.org.
Adult volunteers will be interviewed by the Volunteer Coordinator and the department(s) to which they apply and will also be required to have a flu shot, TB skin test, reference and background check, and HIPPA training, which are all provided by Erlanger Volunteer Services. Volunteers must also purchase the volunteer uniform shirt at $20. (If this cost is prohibitive, please let us know.) Each day of work, volunteers will receive free parking and a meal credit at Erlanger's Cross Roads Cafe.
